2016 Australian Transplant Games, West Sydney

New Zealand was represented by 8 transplant athletes – Aaron Coull (Heart), Bryan Eckersley (Heart), Matthew Field (Kidney), Saint Kennach(Double Lungs), Ken Newlands (Liver), Alan Power (Heart), Vivienne Smith (Double Lungs) and junior member Ben Stanbury(Liver). They were supported by 14 family members.

Our athletes and supporters represented our Association very well in their chosen sports, had great fun and enjoyed wonderful success. Many of our athletes took advantage of being able to enter more than five events at these Games.

Congratulations to Saint Kennach for his Hole in One at golf. Saint was also awarded The Jan and Daryl Wall International Shield for the Most Successful Athlete is recognition of this great achievement. This was the first hole in one since the inception of the Australian Games some 30 years ago.
